X-Marker self-defense spray

X-Marker is a self-defense spray designed to help you break contact and escape. After spraying, the blue liquid turns almost instantly on impact into a foamy layer (similar to shaving foam). This can temporarily impair an attacker’s vision, giving you crucial time to get away and reach safety.

Marking for identification

During a stressful incident, remembering a clear description can be difficult. X-Marker includes (per product information) a health-safe dye that penetrates the skin and can leave a visible blue mark for up to about 3 days, even after washing—helpful for recognition after reporting.

It may look similar to prohibited sprays, but the X-Marker is not prohibited under Dutch law. It should only be used in true emergencies and only if there’s no other option (if you can leave, you should leave).
